Today’s 333 Devotional: “No Fear In Serving God”
God’s call upon our lives involves everything. It’s a wholehearted call. When we faithfully follow God’s calling, we’ll have nothing to fear, not even death.
These were King David’s words to Solomon, along with God’s promise to be with him until His service for God was finished.
“Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord God—my God—will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.” (1 Chronicles 28:20)
Earlier David told Solomon to serve God both willingly and with a whole heart.
“As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.” (1 Chronicles 28:9)
When our service to the Lord is finished, we should have no fear, because just as God was with us as we served Him, He will be with us once our service is finished.
It’s at this time we’ll hear God say, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” (Matthew 25:21)
When we faithfully follow God, we’ll have nothing to fear, not even death.
David said, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4)
Once David’s time was done, He died with no fear, entering into eternity with God.
“For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep.” (Acts 13:36)
