A Scripture and a Prayer: “Our Refuge and Deliverer”
“In you, O Lord, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame; in your righteousness deliver me!” (Psalm 31:1)
Prayer:
Lord, You made Your Son who knew no sin, to be sin on my behalf so that I might attain Your righteousness by faith in Him. And so it is in this truth that I take refuge from the destroyer of our souls, the avenger of blood, Satan. And so, today, I flee to You, Lord Jesus, as that refuge for my soul, and that stronghold from my enemy. Redeem me, O Lord, and forgive me of my sin, and make me clean and make me into that new creation for Your glory. And so, like King David I pray, “You, O Lord, are my refuge and fortress, my God, in You will I trust.” AMEN
