Thought for Today: “You’re Great in God’s Sight”
Do you realize that you are more important than you think? This is a revolutionary thought given that we really don’t think too highly of ourselves. But as you look at the beauty of creation consider that God thinks more about you than everything else.
As King David was pondering this, he wrote, “When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.” (Psalm 8:3-5)
To the children of Israel, the Lord said, “But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.’” (Isaiah 43:1)
Jesus brings out this truth through creation as well saying, “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” (Matthew 6:26)
Therefore, with such wonderful knowledge about how God views us, and how great we are in His sight, let’s go out and tell the world because greater is Jesus Christ who resides within us than all that this world can throw at us.
“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)
