A Christmas Thought: “God Sent His Son”
“But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son.” (Galatians 4:4)
As I thought about what Paul said in Galatians, what struck me is that God keeps His promises, and although it may not be in the time we desire, it is always at the right time.
God’s redemptive plan for humanity wasn’t some divine afterthought. God sent His Son when the time was right.
The Apostle James puts this thought about God to bed when he said of Peters declaration about how the Gentiles were coming to salvation. He said to the council, “Known to God from eternity are all His works.” (Acts 15:18)
God knows and has got it all figured out for our lives. Therefore, just as God accomplished His word in the birth of Jesus, so will God keep His word, His promise He made to all of us. God keeps His promises, and His word never fails.
“For the word of the Lord is right, and all His work is done in truth.” (Psalm 33:4)
