Thought for Today: “It’s All About Jesus”

“It’s all about who you know.” This was a statement I well understood in the business world. I knew many people who had positions of power, and when the time came, I could use that connection to get what I wanted, and vice versa, because when they needed something that I could provide, they would not hesitate to call.

And it’s no different in the spiritual realm, that is, it’s all about whether we know Jesus, because there is no salvation outside our knowing Him as our Savior and Lord.

But, by knowing Jesus, we will then be known by Satan and the forces of evil. They will know who we are, and when we try to break their hold, it is only through the Lord Jesus who resides within us, that these chains of evil and bondage can be broken.

Therefore, it’s not whether we’re known by others that’s going to make a difference, but rather it’s about whether or not we know Jesus, and then we’ll be known not only in heaven, but in hell as well, because the gates of hell will not prevail against us.

This became evident when I first read the story of the seven sons of Sceva and their attempt to cast a demon out of a man. Look at what the demon said.

“Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” (Acts 19:15)

And then the demon began to beat up these seven men casting them out of the house naked.

Therefore, it’s all about knowing Jesus and Him knowing us.
