Thought For Today: “A Fresh Encounter”
God is always ready to speak into our lives, but the question is, are we ready to listen?
If our spiritual lives feel dry and empty, and we’ve lost interest in the things of God and gathering with the people of God, then what we need is a fresh encounter with God.
A fresh encounter with God will do two things. It will reveal God’s holiness coupled with our sinfulness. This is what brings about revival.
In a vision, Isaiah saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and he heard the seraphim cry out saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory.” And seeing the Lord and hearing the seraphim, Isaiah said, “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts” (Isaiah 6:1-5).
God then had one of the seraphim touch Isaiah’s lips with a live coal from the altar. Then God asked, “Whom shall I send,” and Isaiah responded, “Her I am, send me.”
This is what we need, and that is a fresh encounter with the Lord God.
