Thought For Today: “Fire and Blood”

God meets hell’s destructive fire with the renewing and reviving fire of the Holy Spirit.

John the Baptist said concerning the Messiah Jesus who was soon to follow, “He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” (Matthew 3:11)

But not only that, God quenches sin’s fire with the blood of the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, Jesus Christ.

Again, John the Baptist said, “Behold! the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29)

And so, God meets and defeats the fires of hell and sin through the blood of Jesus Christ, and the fire of the Holy Spirit.
