Thought For Today: “Our Problems Don’t Define Us”
How do we want to be described, by our problems, or by God’s promise? Elizabeth was defined by her condition, “Her who was called barren.” (Luke 1:36)
Everywhere she went people would point and call her “barren.” But God saw her differently. To God she was a mighty woman of faith and mother of one of His most mighty prophets, John the Baptist.
God never calls us by our problem or condition. Instead, He has a new and better name, and we must live our live based upon who we are in God.
The Lord says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
Rather than living our lives based on our shortcoming and inabilities, let’s start living our lives based on what Jesus did upon the cross. We are sons and daughters of the Most High God.
