Thought For Today: “God’s Not Dead”
To the women who came to Jesus’s tomb the angels said, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen!” (Luke 24:5b-6a)
Jesus rose from the dead and is alive, therefore let’s stop serving a dead religion, and instead serve the Living God.
To the Pharisees, Jesus said, “But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’ God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” (Matthew 22:31-32)
And then when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead He said to Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” (John 11:25-26)
And let’s not forget what the prophet Isaiah said, “Should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living?” (Isaiah 8:19)
And so, God is not dead, but is alive and active. Therefore, let’s start living our lives in this reality.
