Thought For Today: “Faith Unlocks the Door”
When Peter Druker, known as the father of American Management, was asked how he became a Christian, he said, “When somebody first explained grace to me, I realized I was never going to get a better deal.”
Everything about the American way of life teaches that we get what we earn, there is no free lunch, and that you lie in the bed of your own making. And that’s because America is all about hard work and elbow grease.
Although there’s nothing wrong with this sort of ethic, in fact, the Bible says that if we will not work, neither shall we eat (2 Thessalonians 3:10), the problem, however, is that God doesn’t operate in accordance with it when it comes to our relationship with Him. God’s plan involves His grace coupled with our faith.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Faith is the key that unlocks the door to heaven. Salvation is God’s free gift of grace to all who will receive it by faith.
