Thought For Today: “A Humble Spirit Needed”
While we have kingdom business to perform, we’re still servants of the king. Therefore, let’s not think more highly of our work or ourselves than we ought.
While John the Baptist was a mighty prophet and herald of the coming Messiah, he still wasn’t worthy to unlace Jesus’ sandal.
He said, “There comes One after me who is mightier than I, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to stoop down and loose.” (Mark 1:7)
The Apostle Paul said, “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think.” (Romans 12:3)
The Apostle Peter also gives us the same advice, and that it will be to our benefit.
“Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.” (1 Peter 5:6)
