Today’s Devotional: “Don’t Live Below God’s Promises”
God has given to us great promises, much more than we deserve. Take a moment and look at some of the marvelous promises available to us as believers in Jesus Christ.
God’s Gift of Grace:
“For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.” (Romans 5:15)
Love that Passes Knowledge:
“That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height – to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:17-19)
“Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith – the salvation of your souls.” (1 Peter 1:8-9)
Peace that Passes Understanding:
“The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)
“For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:17)
Yet as great and precious as these promises are, they often seem removed from our everyday life. The reason is not because they are beyond our reach, but rather because we are living below our privileges.
“His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature.” (2 Peter 1:3-4)
And so, receive these promises for your life and start living the life God intended.
