Today’s Devotional: “God Isn’t Finished With You
With everything that life throws at us, God wants us to know that He still has great and wonderful plans for our lives.
Now you may not sense it at the moment because of what you are going through, or what you have been going through for some time. Maybe you have contracted a serious illness, disease, or are afraid of contracting the Coronavirus. Maybe you are financially in trouble or are relationally devastated. But God can still do great things in and through you.
The Apostle Paul knew and experienced this reality. Somewhere in his missionary journeys he contacted a debilitating disease that kept him from doing what he thought he needed to do, but the Lord assured him this wasn’t the case.
“Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:8-10)
While jailed in Rome Paul wrote, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
No matter what you are going through God isn’t finished with you. He has great plans and purposes still for your life. How do I know that, because you’re reading this.
Consider the words of Jesus to the believers in Philadelphia. “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.” (Revelation 3:8).
God has great plans for your life, plans to prosper you and to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
And so, if there ever was a word from the Lord for His people, this is it!
