What’s In Your Hand?
September 7, 2020

Today’s 333 Devotional: “What’s In Your Hand?”

When it comes to giving and fulfilling the Great Commission many people are inclined to think they really don’t have that much to give.

But this simply isn’t true.

Moses thought like that and God had to correct his stinken’ thinken’. Moses didn’t think to highly of His abilities saying, “Suppose they will not believe me.” (Exodus 4:1)

But God said, “What is that in your hand.” (Exodus 4:2)

God doesn’t ask us to use what we don’t have, rather He asks us to use what we do have.

God used the simple shepherd’s rod in Moses’ hand and did great miracles. And God can and wants to do the same through you and me.

So, what’s in your hand? What do you have to give? What are your gifts and talents?

“There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all.” (1 Corinthians 12:4-7)

God has a great calling for the church, and He wants us to go and make a difference in our communities for Christ, and then by extension to the world. To do this He has called us to come together unified with our various gifts and talents so that we can be the church that He delights Himself in.

The Bible tells us that as believers in Christ there isn’t anything that we can’t do.

The Apostle Paul said, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

What I have come to realize is that for many of us it really isn’t, “I can’t,” as much as it is, “I don’t want to.”

So instead of saying “I can’t do this or that,” instead say “I can through Christ.”

Let’s change our thinking so we can change the world.
