How Low Can We Go?
September 4, 2020

Today’s 333 Devotional: “How Low Can We Go?”

It’s only when we find ourselves down and at the end of ourselves, that’s when we’re at the threshold of God doing a new thing that coincides with His will and purpose. We may not recognize it, but God’s there working on our behalf to get us back to that place of fruitfulness.

We may say, “Our weakness is God’s opportunity to bring heavenly provision.”

This is what the Apostle Paul found. When he was at his weakest, that is when God was at full strength.

“He (God) said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

We see the same with David. It was at the time when He was on the run from King Saul. You might say He was at rock bottom when he found himself sitting in the blackened ruins of his compromise.

The city where he and his men resided, Ziglag, was burned to the ground, their families and possessions taken, and it says that David and his men wept until they had no more power to weep.

But as low as David was at that point in his life, and when he turned to God, God was there. It says, “But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.” (1 Samuel 30:6)

It was then that God met David with a word of power and victory saying, “Pursue and you will recover all.” (1 Samuel 30)

No matter how low we may go, God is there when we repent and turn to Him, and He will set us upon the right path to recover all that we’ve lost, including our vision, passion, and Holy Spirit guidance.
