Today’s 333 Devotional: “Take a Walk with God”
If you want to know what pleases God, take a walk with Him. This was Enoch’s testimony.
“And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.” (Genesis 5:24)
“By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, ‘and was not found, because God had taken him;’ for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” (Hebrews 11:5)
To walk with God means more than merely taking a physical walk. Rather, walking with God is a way of life. It affects every area of our lives starting from the inside and working it’s way out. It starts at the very center of our being and works it’s way outward affecting every fiber of who we are.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
The problem today, and why we really don’t have this sort of testimony as Enoch, is because we try to walk with both the world and Jesus.
“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14)
And because of this we’ve compromised our faith to the point where it is no longer pleasing to the Lord, (Hebrews 11:6).
Instead we need to understand that we have been bought with a price, the blood of Jesus Christ, therefore we are to glorify God in both body and spirit, and no longer are we to be slaves to this world but bondservants of God (1 Corinthians 6:20; 7:23).
Begin a brand new walk with the Lord today, pray, read the Bible, allow His word to get into you, attend a bible study and go to church, and you will not only begin to know what pleases God, but you will be pleasing to God.
