Today’s 333 Devotional: “Truth Has Fallen”

Alan Redpath said, “America is a mission field for heresy.”

God’s truth has fallen in America. How else can we explain the rise of all the false religious belief systems like Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Christian Science, Scientology, and New Age spirituality to name a few?

America has sown to the wind, and now it is reaping the whirlwind (Hosea 8:7).

The prophet Isaiah said, “Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands afar off; for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.” (Isaiah 59:14)

The Apostle Paul said, “I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.” (Galatians 1:6-7)

Not only are these a different good news than the gospel of Jesus Christ, which brings redemption and the forgiveness of sins, but also they aren’t even good news, because they have a different Jesus and a different way to heaven than what the Bible declares.

Truth has also taken a tumble in our society as well. The prophet Isaiah speaks to this saying, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.” (Isaiah 5:20)

America’s conscience has been seared as with a hot iron as it has indulged in every sort of inequity, and has acted in violence against the law of God, and in so doing have become hypocrites proclaiming moral superiority (2 Timothy 4:2).

Therefore let’s be like the Apostle Paul who said, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16a), and “Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.” (2 Corinthians 5:11)

Today let’s proclaim the truth of God’s word and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
