Thought for Today: Members of God’s Family

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’” (Romans 8:15)

The Apostle Paul is saying that through belief in Jesus Christ we are no longer slaves to this world; rather we are sons and daughters of God, and thus heirs of heaven.

One day all who believe in Jesus will be going home. Not our earthly home, but our heavenly home that Jesus has especially prepared for us.

Jesus said, “I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” (John 14:3)
