Thought For Today: Faith Sees Beyond The Immediate
After Abraham’s victory, the king of Sodom told him to keep what he had retrieved. But Abraham refused to put himself under any obligation that might discredit the Lord in the future.
“I will not take anything that is yours lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’” (Genesis 14:23)
Right after this God blesses Abraham saying, “I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” (Gen. 15:1)
Faith sees beyond immediate gratification and refuses to compromise its future through present actions.
