You cannot give a teaspoon of time and expect a gallon of God’s presence in return.
There’s a universal law saying you’ll reap what you sow. If you sow a little time and energy in your relationship with God, then you’ll only reap a little of God’s presence, but if you sow a lot, then a lot is what you can expect.
Jesus promises, “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you” (Luke 6:38 NKJV).
God’s presence in our lives is measured by time we spend in His presence.
If you want an abundant life full of God’s glorious presence, then you must give above measure. Further, God wants to supply your every need, so give unto Him without measure.
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8 NKJV).
When we give more of ourselves to God, then He will pour more of His glorious presence upon us.
Unfortunately too many Christians indulge more in the pleasures of the world than spending time in God’s presence, and as a result they’re experiencing an ever-diminishing return.
The glory of God’s presence is given in measure to the time spent with Him. The Bible says that if you seek the Lord with all your heart and soul, then you’ll find Him (Deuteronomy 4:29). The Apostle James says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8 NKJV)
Stir yourself up to seek the Lord with all your heart, and quit being stingy with the time you give Him. If you want more of God, then you’ve got to give more of yourself in return.
Prayer, “Lord, I want more of You, so please take more of me.”
