How Low Can We Go?
It’s only when we find ourselves down and at the end of ourselves, that’s when we’re at the threshold of God doing something great and new in our lives.
This coincides with the will and purpose of God. We may not recognize it, but God’s working on our behalf to get us back to a place of fruitfulness.
You might say it like this,
“Our weakness is God’s opportunity to bring heavenly provision.”
This is what the Apostle Paul found in his own life. When he was at his weakest, that’s when God was at full strength in his life.
“He (God) said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.’” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10NKJV)
We see the same thing happening with David.
He was at rock bottom sitting in the blackened ruins of his compromise. Ziglag, in the land of the Philistines, where he and his men resided while on the run from King Saul, was burnt to the ground by the Amalekites. Their families and possessions were taken, and David and his men wept until they had no more power to weep, 1 Samuel 30:1-6.
But as low as David was at this point in his life, God was there, and when David turned to God, God met him with a word of power and victory.
God said, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.” (1 Samuel 30:8b NKJV)
No matter how low we may be, God is there when we repent and turn to Him. And He will set us upon the right path to recover all that we’ve lost, including our vision, passion, and Holy Spirit guidance.
